Two storey extension to existing Guest House to provide 8 En-Suite bedrooms .
Work to this property was carried out in 3 phases:
Phase one: The brief was to provide an extension on two floors, having a layout for 8 en-suite bedrooms, a communal Lounge as well as a specialist bathroom and disabled lift. This was constructed onto the rear of the existing detached building which had itself been converted and extended 10 years earlier.
Phase two: The brief was to alter and adapt all the existing bedrooms within the body of the original nursing home so that they became single bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and to provide a communal specialist bathroom
Phase three: The brief was to provide a reception desk & office at the front of the building so that all visitors were monitored and to provide an additional disabled access lift to serve the original bedrooms
This entailed carrying out a full survey of the property, preparing schemes for the approval of the client, as well as the Planning and Building Control Departments and obtaining all the necessary approvals. Carrying out the supervision of the works as well as valuations and all certificates.
The new extension was constructed in traditional materials to match the existing property, i.e. coursed stone walls, slate pitched roof and upvc windows & doors. All the works were also carried out whilst the nursing home was still occupied.
