Conversion of a range of former farm buildings into one dwelling .
The brief was to provide a layout for a single family dwelling within the existing structure which was originally a farm building positioned on the Pennine Way footpath.
When the clients bought the property it was split into a small family house with 3 small cottages. Outside there were a range of single storey outbuildings, which had been converted into showers, toilets and other facilities for a small camp site in the garden. The main structure was converted into one large dwelling removing the modern conservatory as well as the painted finish to the walls, and the unsightly outbuildings were demolished and rebuilt in a more traditional style.
This entailed carrying out a full survey, preparing schemes for the approval of the client, as well as the Planning and Building Control Departments and obtaining all the necessary approvals.
