Renovation of existing toilet accommodation.
The brief was to work with the client’s to improve the dated toilet facilities within the Historic Railway Station. The male toilets were external & had no roof, the ladies toilet was cramped and out dated and there were no disabled toilet facilities and no hot water.
The new toilets were to be built on the footprint of the existing toilets so getting more toilets accommodation, plus boiler room etc. into the same space was a challenge. Lastly the completed toilets had to be hard wearing and easy to maintain, whilst retaining its character and providing a traditional appearance, and to be welcoming to all visitors to this popular tourist attraction.
This entailed carrying out a full survey of the toilets, preparing schemes for the approval of the client, as well as the Planning and Building Control Departments and obtaining all the necessary approvals and carrying out full site supervision of the works as well as valuations and all certificates
