Conversion of existing Listed Farmhouse and Stable.
The brief was to totally renovate a dilapidated farmhouse & barns (which was a listed structure) to provide a layout for a single family dwelling within the existing structure of a traditional Yorkshire Dales Farm Building, including extending the accommodation into a redundant attached barn, including new bathrooms and en-suites.
A speculative development by a local landowner.
This entailed carrying out a survey of the property, preparing schemes for the approval of the client, as well as the YDNPA Planning and building control department and obtaining all the necessary approvals including full site supervision, for a total renovation of the property including new floors, major structural repairs, and under floor heating from a new ground source heat pump installation. Replastering through out with lime plaster, new staircase, floors and renovation of the all existing window frames, retaining as much of the existing frames as possible and total repointing externally with lime mortar all under the watchful eye of the YDNPA conservation officer.
