Two storey extension to existing Guest House to provide 8 En-Suite bedrooms
The brief was to provide a layout for 8 en-suite bedrooms to the side of the existing 18th century original building which lies within the picturesque village of Malham, within a secluded area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
This entailed carrying out a full survey, preparing schemes for the approval of the client, as well as the Planning and Building Control Departments and obtaining all the necessary approvals.
The structure was to provide a high level of insulation and also included solar panels and a new bore hole in order to reduce running costs. The extension was therefore built in a timber frame construction with traditional timber roof construction. The structure was then clad with local limestone to the walls, and to the roof so that it blended in with the original building. A stone carved bay was built onto the front to replicate the bay on the original structure.
